Doc. Ing. Karel Čada, prom. law, Ph.D. is a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague (1964 – 1969), the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague (1973 – 1978) and the University of Economics in Prague – Ph.D. (2005 – 2009).
In 1994, he completed a study visit at JAICA (Tokyo – Industrial Property Protection) and in 2000, a study visit within the International Visitor Program (Washington – Intellectual Property Protection). He led the Czech delegation at diplomatic conferences on industrial property protection, at the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organization (2002 – 2009) and the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (2004 – 2009).
He worked at Teplotechna (1971 – 1990) as head of the patent department, at the Federal Office for Inventions and the Industrial Property Office as deputy chairman (1990 – 1998) and chairman of the office (1999 – 2009).
He currently works at the law and patent office Čermák a spol. He is the author of several publications in the field of industrial property protection. He lectures at the Metropolitan University in Prague and the University of Economics in Prague.
