Activities of the institute
The Institute provides knowledge on the protection of intellectual property, know-how and trade secrets, as well as unfair competition, and methods of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), especially in the form of mediation, to small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to universities, research and development organizations, professional public from among inventors and other interested parties. It cooperates with small and medium-sized enterprises, universities and other organizations that participate in the activities of the Institute, e.g. in the form of open days, participation in trade fairs or personal consultations.

SUPPORT FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES FROM THE COSME FUND - PRELIMINARY DIAGNOSIS SERVICE IN THE FIELD OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP SCAN)
The COSME FUND program distributes funds from the European Commission and the EUIPO to SMEs for the protection of industrial property. Among other things, these are the following types of support:
Reimbursement of 90% of the IP scan service costs of preliminary diagnosis services in the field of intellectual property provided through EU intellectual property offices.
Reimbursement of 75% of fees for trademark and industrial design applications filed at national, regional and EU level and 50% of fees for international trademark and industrial design applications.
A small and medium-sized enterprise can apply for subsidies from the SME Fund once a year.
