Vision, goals and mission

IP Mediation Center Prague, a registered institute, is a legal entity established pursuant to Section 402 et seq. of Act No. 89/2012 Coll., Civil Code, as amended.
The mission of the Institute is to carry out socially useful activities in the field of intellectual property protection, using its personal and property resources to support the protection of intellectual property and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) in this area, particularly in the form of mediation, as well as educational, publishing and research activities related to this.
The main activities of the institute are:

to provide small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as colleges, universities, research and development organizations, the professional public from among inventors and other interested parties with knowledge about the protection of intellectual property, know-how and trade secrets, as well as unfair competition, and methods of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), especially in the form of mediation;

to provide lecturing and publishing activities in the field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and intellectual property protection, to carry out research activities in cooperation with colleges and research organizations in the field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and intellectual property protection;

to gather knowledge support, in particular from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the European Patent Organization (EPO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the Industrial Property Office (ÚPV) in the field of intellectual property protection and dispute resolution related thereto through the mediation;

to provide those interested in mediator activities with expertise in the field of intellectual property protection and to train them in the field of intellectual property in cooperation with, in particular, WIPO, EPO, EUIPO and the ÚPV and to provide organizational and technical support for the implementation of media in the field of intellectual property protection through trained mediators.
The long-term goal of the institute is to support the protection of intellectual property in research and development, especially know-how and patents with commercial potential, as well as the use of patent information before formulating scientific, research and innovative plans, to support the thoughtful setting of licensing policy and the resolution of disputes in the field of intellectual property protection through ADR, especially mediation, as all of this can significantly help the Czech Republic to rank among the innovation leaders of Europe and become a country of the technological future.
The vision of the institute is to support development, research and innovation with the active involvement of the Office for Intellectual Property Rights, WIPO, EUIPO, as well as other organizations and experts, with the aim of raising awareness of intellectual property protection, especially among small and medium-sized enterprises, in the field of research, development, innovation and transfer of knowledge and expertise to the application sphere, including the possibility of alternative dispute resolution related to this.
