I am very glad that the IP Mediation Center, following the autumn Mediation course for patent attorneys, organized a Mediation Fitness Course, in which we had the opportunity to practice mediation in a very intensive way. Thanks to the smaller number of participants, we had the opportunity to try out several mediation cases, both as a mediator and as a disputing party. We gained a lot of new knowledge, experience and feedback. In the spring of this year, the IP Mediation Center Prague, a registered institute, was founded, which, in cooperation with the Czech Bar Association - ADR section and the Industrial Property Office, trained the first IP mediators, who are now professionally prepared to conduct challenging disputes in the field of intellectual property protection, especially industrial rights. The aim of this course was to prepare highly qualified mediators from among lawyers who will be able to conduct these disputes using the ADR rules of the IP Mediation Center Prague, a registered institute. This was a very intensive training of lawyers - registered mediators, who were trained by qualified employees of the Industrial Property Office and cooperating experts in the field of industrial rights protection. The benefit of establishing this Mediation Center is undeniable and its success will certainly convince the participants of the usefulness of alternative types of proceedings, especially mediation. The seminars were characterized by a high level and great success among lawyers-mediators. With its establishment and cooperation with EUIPO and WIPO in connection with connections with attorney-mediators, mediation and its mission in the Czech Republic are once again being compared to the world.
