Mgr. Evžen Martínek, Ph.D.

Intellectual Property Specialist

Mgr. Evžen Martínek, Ph.D. (*1975) has a wide range of knowledge in the field of intellectual property (IP) law and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). He received a certificate from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) based on the completion of an advanced three-month mediation and arbitration course and a mediation and arbitration workshop supported by the Intellectual Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI). He has certificates from a number of other training courses in the mediation of intellectual property disputes and commercial disputes, such as the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) conference on IP mediation, etc. He is also a holder of a certificate from the Institute for Mediation and Labor Relations in Prague from the educational program "Mediation as a Method of Conflict Resolution", which is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Labor. Since 2007, he has been working in the International and Legal Department of the Industrial Property Office (ÚPV) in Prague, which is the patent and trademark office of the Czech Republic. Here he focuses on European and international industrial property law, which is accepted by the European Patent Organization (EPO), the EU and WIPO. In 2009, he completed a two-year study at the Institute of Industrial Law Education of the ÚPV, dedicated to the issues of patents, trademarks, industrial and utility models, copyright, litigation, enforcement of intellectual property rights, patent information and licenses. In addition, he participated in educational events organized by the WIPO Academy and the EPO Academy in the areas of technology transfers, commercialization and valuation of intellectual property, intellectual property strategies, public-private sector cooperation in research, development and intellectual property. He is the author of professional articles and studies on the issues of industrial property rights. He graduated from Charles University in Prague, where he received a master's and doctoral degrees. He speaks English and German.
